Nevin Aladağ, Fanfare

Nevin Aladağ: Fanfare

SAHA supports Nevin Aladağ’s solo show at Hayward Gallery, held on 12 February – 13 April 2020.

Aladağ’s first solo exhibition in the UK at HENI Project Space brings together a group of five recent artworks that together explore sound, rhythm, and music in witty and visual ways. These include the artist’s video work Traces (2015), a musical portrait of the urban landscape in Stuttgart, Germany, in which musical instruments are ‘played’ by elements of the city. Session (2013) is a video featuring drums, bells and other percussive instruments from Pakistan, India and Iraq; and the sculptural work Tusch [Fanfare] (2015) features a pair of musical scores writ large on the gallery wall. Between Wednesday 12 and Monday 24 February, Aladağ’s video Top View (2012), which captures the infectious rhythm of dancing feet, is on show in Hayward Gallery Foyer, adjacent to HENI Project Space.
