“My intention is to not be a ‘visitor’ there”

Evrim Altuğ interviews İnci Eviner on her exhibition at 58th Venice Biennial Pavillion of Turkey. With her work “We, Elsewhere”, İnci Eviner will be representing Turkey at the 58th International Venice Biennial. The theme of this year’s biennial is based on the historic Chinese curse of “May you live in interesting times.” We visited Eviner at her studio and talked about her work. The artist emphasizes that her intention is to not be a “visitor” there and to “try to define the problem of being stuck between the ground and the earth.”

Venice as a global camp of hope Evrim Altuğ review the 58th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, focusing on Halil Altındere’s Neverland, supported by SAHA, along with other Works in the exhibiton.  "Venice receives legal immigration of hundreds of signatures and flags from across the global art world every two years. The 58th art biennial hosts once again the general audience and all types of artwork, begging the question of who is more permanent and who is just fleeting in this world. The biennial, as an intellectual refugee camp playing hide and seek with reality, includes controversial works as well as a display of what is lacking in the world, is open for six months."
