Artists started working at the SAHA Studio at the beginning of August and at the beginning of September 2019, and the first visitors to the studio were members and supporters of SAHA. In Fall 2019, SAHA organized studio visits and portfolio reviews by the directors of and curators from internationally renowned institutions, including the New Museum, Metropolitan Museum, Athens Contemporary Art Museum, Delfina Foundation, Liverpool Biennial, Tate Modern, Tate Saint Ives, Manifesta Biennial, Queens Museum, Fræme, Kochi Muziris Biennial, Hesse Culture Foundation, V-A-C Foundation, Berlin Biennial, Open Space, Artworks, Rijksakademie, De Appel Curatorial Programme, Bergen University Curatorial Practice, Tokyo Contemporary Art Museum, and Van Abbemuseum, etc. Numerous curators and artists from Turkey and from abroad also visited SAHA Studio and discussed their works with the artists.
Two of the SAHA Studio artists visited Venice Biennial and other art institutions in Venice in September 2019 with the SAHA team and members. In November, the other two artists went to Amsterdam for RijskOpen and ArtWeekend to be acquainted with the arts and culture scene of the Netherlands. In Istanbul, the artists have visited art institutions, collections, and artist studios, and followed the special programs for the members of SAHA. They had conversations and meetings with participants at other artist-in-residency programs in the city, including Arter Research Programme, Tarabya Cultural Academy, Istanbul Biennial production and research program, Be Mobile-Create Together, Depo & Berlin Senate residencies. The residents also had meetings with independent art initiatives and art critics supported by SAHA. Furthermore, they had a workshop with the artist Yasemin Özcan to produce ceramics at SAHA Studio.
