Studio Conversations brings together alumni of the SAHA Studio program over the course of ten months to explore ten different topics alongside participants who contribute a range of perspectives to each discussion.
Pressing Matter: Artist Publications
The first gathering in the Studio Conversations series, taking place on 17 September at 5:00 pm, focuses on artist publications. The conversation brings together Borga Kantürk (3rd Term), who most recently developed the publication project Records of Action: An Anthology of Protests; Yasemin Nur (4th Term), Vice-Rector at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, who has taken over B.A.S, the artist publications archive founded by Banu Cennetoğlu; artist Huo Rf, co-founder of Border_less; and Zeynep Yılmaz (8th Term), whose first book, veya tutkal, was published last year. Drawing on the experiences of the four speakers, the conversation examines the sources of inspiration and motivations behind artist publications, as well as their production and circulation, while opening up a discussion on the functions and meanings these publications hold within contemporary art today.
