MORPHO

Belgium

SAHA and MORPHO inaugurate their collaboration in 2023 within the scope of Belgium, Antwerp based MORPHO’s international residency programme, hosting around 20 artists every year. SAHA supports the participation of an artist based in Turkey.

The first participant of the program, which will last for 2 months between 1 August - 30 September 2023, is Nihan Somay. During the residency period, Somay plans to work on an anthology for which she reinterprets the artists’ publications she has produced since 2014 through a process of selection, editing and translation, in addition to making experiments with forms of speculative fiction. In parallel, she explores The Book Lovers collection of artists’ novels at the M HKA Museum of Contemporary Art.

As an artist residency, it annually hosts around 20 residents from Belgium and abroad whom they support in their projects and trajectories. The programme consists of weekly collective sessions in an environment that encourages dialogue and experimentation.
