The International Studio & Curatorial Program - ISCP

USA

ISCP invited artist Cem Örgen from Türkiye to participate in the program’s March-May 2025 period, following the open call made between 11 October and 1 November 2024. During his residency in New York, Örgen plans to explore new research and create three-dimensional works that delve into the phenomenon of birds—symbols of freedom and hope—colliding with skyscrapers due to their reflective surfaces, by approaching preventive regulations, and focus on the poetic moments surrounding this moment of collusion.

About The International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP)

Founded in 1994 in New York as a non-profit, ISCP is a leading visual arts residency program for emerging to mid-career artists and curators from around the world, including the United States. With 35 artists and curators in residence at all times, the program provides residents with opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and collaboration as well as the space, time, and support to develop new projects. With additional activities tailored for professional development and public engagement, ISCP serves as an important platform for producing, presenting and contextualizing contemporary art through a diverse range of international perspectives. ISCP’s public programs encourage dialogue and integrate residents into the cultural landscape of New York City. The residency includes 24-hour access to a private, furnished studio space; monthly meetings with visiting critics; field trips to museums, galleries and other cultural venues; and participation in an Artist at Work public talk and Open Studios.
