Alexia Medici (b. 1980, Malta) is a curator based in Barcelona since 2006, working between Barcelona and Malta. Her practice tends to be collaborative and research-led, developing exhibitions and cultural projects that explore the intersections of social narrative, historical memory, and architectural context.

Rooted in a multidisciplinary background spanning communication, psychology, and visual culture, she approaches curating as a form of spatial research and dialogue. Her projects often engage local histories and temporal traces, inviting audiences to consider the sociocultural layers embedded in place, community, and collective experience.

Alongside exhibition-making, she has extensive experience in public programmes, guided visits, talks, educational engagement, and community-facing cultural initiatives across both independent and institutional contexts. Her work moves across varied formats and environments, from site-responsive interventions in public space to collaborative roles within major exhibition frameworks.

She took part of the curatorial team for the ongoing Malta Biennale 2026, under the Artistic Direction of Rosa Martínez until May 2026. This experience has further developed her work within a governmental cultural institution, contributing to the delivery of an international exhibition across multiple UNESCO World Heritage sites, while deepening her experience in artist liaison, multi-site coordination, and site-specific exhibition-making.
