Eda Berkmen completed her undergratuate degree in History of Art at Yale University and her MA in Cultural Studies from UCL Central Saint Martins. From 2009 to 2011, she was the coordinator at Proje4L/Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art and from 2011 to 2015, she was the artistic director at Galerist. As a member of Arter’s curatorial team between 2017 and 2023, she has curated the exhibitions, Nil Yalter: Off the Record (2016), Can Aytekin: Empty house (2018), İnci Furni: She Waited for a While (2019), What Time Is It? (with Emre Baykal, 2019), Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye: Repetition (2020), Rounded by Sleep (2022), Eva Kotatkova: I Sometimes Imagine I am a Fish with Legs (2023) ve Cengiz Çekil: I Am Still Alive (2023) as part of the institution’s program and contributed to the accompanying publications. She prepared Nil Yalter, Exile is a Hard Job: Walls book in 2024 and continues to work as an independent curator in Istanbul.
