Mark Wigley is Professor and Dean Emeritus at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. As an architectural theorist and historian, he explores the intersections of architecture, art, philosophy, culture, and technology. Together with Beatriz Colomina, Wigley curated the 3rd Istanbul Design Biennial, Are We Human? The Design of the Species: 2 Seconds, 2 Days, 2 Years, 200 Years, 200,000 Years (2016). His publications include Buckminster Fuller Inc.: Architecture in the Age of Radio (2016), Cutting Matta-Clark: The Anarchitecture Investigation (2018), and Are We Human? Notes on an Archaeology of Design (2016), co-authored with Colomina in connection with the biennial. Born in New Zealand, where he trained as an architect, Wigley lives in New York.
